I bought some canvases at a yard sale (for a $1.00!!!). I didn’t need a better excuse than that to get my Dylusions paints and sprays out to play. I used modeling paste and a heating tool to get this cool bubbly look, and a black permanent ink pad to make those neat black rectangles. The stars and the chevron pattern are made with stencils.
I’m thinking this background layer is calling for an artistic face, putting my practice to the test. What’s the worst that can happen? The face looks cruddy and my painting gets another layer of background goodness. I’m okay with that.
While testing the stencils with the spray inks, I created a few great pieces of background paper to be used at a later date.
And here’s how the stencils look when you clean them off in your art journal.
Wishing you all a diamond filled sky this week!
