Making memories

Ah, summer.  The time of year  families make a little more of an effort to come together.  In NH, that’s probably because it’s the only season that you can guarantee you can actually get somewhere — until, of course, you get stuck in all the road repairs.

Some of my most favorite growing up memories are from summer on the lake.  Summer equaled freedom.   Swimming everyday.  Paddling my row boat around the cove.  Riding my bike to the beach.  My brother taking me for ice cream sundaes.

One of my most favorite memories is my grandfather taking me swimming right before bedtime, the coolness of the water would just lull me to sleep.  My grandfather has been gone a long time, but I can still remember the calm these nighttime swims would bring as we cooled off after a long day.

Recently, I was asked to create a photo album.  This album is a gift for someone who recently lost a family member.  I hope this album will be a place that they can collect their memories,  remember them with fondness, and preserve them for their family.
